April 13th 2026. u15 Boys 3 South Yorkshire 1

South Yorkshire started the game with some crisp passing and positive movement off the ball that put the West Midlands u14 Boys under pressure in the defensive third but their best opportunity in the opening quarter came from a free kick which threatened to break the deadlock. The momentum began to shift, however, and West Midlands found success in the left channel and central areas, with one goal bound effort being impressively saved by the South Yorkshire goalkeeper, before South Yorkshire broke the stalemate before the break with a precisely converted penalty which found the bottom left corner of the net.

Despite the score-line not in their favour West Midlands began the second half with an increased determination and they began to dominate possession, resulting in further opportunities being created in what was becoming an increasingly heated contest. Something had to give and West Midlands finally sealed a 3-1 victory by scoring three times in the final 18 minutes of the game. An impressive 20 yard rocket, a penalty and a free-kick all scored by the West Midlands captain, Alfie Smith. No wonder everyone in the home dressing room was jubilant after the match!
